I’ve had this idea to do a flamingo themed 4th birthday for forever. Umm… hello, the flamingo’s leg bends into the shape of a 4. It must be a sign.
I had this insane brilliant idea to plan a birthday party on the same day as the dance recital and my son’s baseball game – so that the whole fam (all of our family lives in Tennessee) could see all the things in one trip. I’m thoughtful like that. Even if it means a few more gray hairs for all of us. HA!
A flamingo themed party… the ideal venue was the zoo, but I had to wait on the times for the recital and baseball games to be determined (I get so frustrated when things that are outside of my control take forever to be planned) – and the zoo was booked by the time all those stars aligned. I tried tons of other locations, to no avail.
Enter the bowling alley to save the day!
Since we had a full agenda, the party started bright and early at 9:30am. So we feasted on donuts and had cake for dessert. Holy SUGAR RUSH! Ha!
The cake was sitting on a lampshade from Target. The gold chargers and “4” cake topper are from Hobby Lobby. The plastic flamingos and hot pink buckets (flipped upside down) are from the Dollar Tree. I had some green pom-pom ribbon and I hot glued that around the edge to add a little character. The fabric/ribbon banner was a $2 yard sale find. I found the hydrangeas on Michael’s, and the balloons are from Party City.
Her name on top of the cake was a gift from one of my clients, and he used a coat hanger to make it. I have a feeling that this will be on her cake from now until forever.
I usually always have a backdrop, but in this case the table was free standing and kinda small – so I just decided against one. I like how the fact it was at a bowling alley was not lost in the pictures, and it still looks super cute.
And I mean, how adorable are these party favors?!?
Every child got a few dollars in quarters to play in the arcade and a free pass to come back and bowl.
I found the bags and mini clothes pins at Hobby Lobby and the flamingos were printables on Pinterest.
It was a great party and a fun time had by all, most importantly – this little angle really enjoyed her special day. And that is all that mattered.
